I’m working on a new thing… and it needs a theme.
I’ve struggled with CSS, but I can learn.
I can read PHP.
I’m pretty damn good with the Google.
There’s no reason I can’t build the WordPress theme I have in my head other than the self-talk where I keep lying to myself and say that I can’t.
It’s time to sit down with _s and do the work.
I can clean my toilet and I can design website but I’m infinitely happier when someone else does these things. That said, I totally agree and if it’s something you want to learn, DIY you should go for it.
If you get stuck, holler at me if you want. I’ve been having thoughts about changing up my site as well, but a curious need for sleep keeps preventing me…
That’s a great point and one I probably should’ve touched on in my overly-simple blog post. One of my main motivations is not just to produce a theme, but to get a better understanding of how it all fits together so that I have more control in the future.
