Interesting thoughts, Aaron. Who would guess a couple of months ago that Instagram and Facebook would consolidate and Google+ would make a shift into a much more competitive mobile photo sharing ability. The default for most people is Facebook and the Instagram addition is just icing on their cake, and Facebook is constantly morphing to reinvent it's mobile self. But Google+ offers a network that beckons many media folks and this latest shift may benefit us all with an even better toolset. I can't wait for my Android version of the new mobile G+

I just found your article via a Google search. I read it and the comments. I just started using Evernote myself. My reasoning wasn't a professional one necessarily. It comes from the need to find an easy solution for remembering tasks and important things. So far it has been really nice to have notes available to me on all of my devices, smart phone, desktop, laptop, tablet, etc. Since throughout everyday I'm looking at most of these devices I no longer forget these things. Another nice feature is the ability to clip articles on the web using Chrome's web clipping and clearly extensions. The format is really nice and appealing to view on my smart phone later. I also whole-heartedly agree with any software being a personal choice and what might not be right for one person is a great option for another.

I would add that it is no disrespect to the speaker to leave a session that is not giving you value. The Unconference Law of Two Feet applies at all conferences: "If at any time during our time together you find yourself in any situation where you are neither learning nor contributing, use your two feet, go someplace else"

I first started using Freshbooks in mid-2006 for my small web business. In short, I loved it. I only stopped using it a couple of years later because I had more or less quit the web industry and because they didn't support Google Checkout at the time and I have a lot of PayPal angst built up from over the years. They've since added Google Checkout and quite a few other payment options so that point/complaint no longer applies.

Funny thing? I'm finding myself in need of their services again and planned on signing back up next week. I didn't even research other options, it's just that good.

I was using FreshBooks until I discovered Pancake App. Very similar but a 1-time fee instead of monthly. It's also self hosted which gives a person more control over there their customer's information is stored. Either way, both are fantastic options for photographers!
